Proudhadevaraya Institute of Technology another name for place for development of intellectual technocrats is managed and run by esteemed Veerasaiva Vidyavardhaka Sangha Bellary established in Oct 1997 at HOSPET the steel city of Karnataka near by the famous world Heritage Centre of Vijayanagar Empire HAMPI &  Tunga Bhadra Dam which is major irrigation project of India.  In the beginning, the college was affiliated to Gulbraga University, Gulbarga (1997-98) and from 1998 it is affiliated to Visveswaraya Technological University, Belgaum. The college is providing engineering education in Five Engineering Branches Viz Mechanical Engineering; Computer science and Engineering; Information Science and Engineering; Electronics and Communication Engineering & Instrumentation Technology and Engineering and a Post Graduation in Management.


LIBRARY :VIDYACHETANA: A Treasure Trove of Information


The small PDIT-Library born in the year 1997 had initiated some basic services to small group of faculty and students of under graduate engineers with its meager collection of books and magazines in Hospet, Bellary Dist of Karnataka State.  Today this small library has grown up to a smart one, with over 30,000-volumes of books, 85 subscribed national and international journals in addition to numerous E-resources catering quality services to more than 1500under graduate students, research scholars and their teaching band of reputed faculty, who themselves are busy in research and development activities, procuring quality engineers, who are capable of facing challenges of the present day global village
